MISSION

Maylill 1-2-3 Nursey School was established in 1984. We provide a stimulating and inclusive learning environment for pre-school children aged birth to 6 years old. Our school is a safe, happy and healthy environment for children. We guarantee lots of love and first class education. Children can only learn if they feel safe, loved and secure in their environment. Our employees are qualified professionals who are in the childcare business because they love children and are serious about the well-being of children. Our parents are included in all aspects of their children’s education and form an integral part of their overall success. Our equipment and training methods are constantly upgraded. Our vision is to improve the level of pre-school education in South Africa.

COMPLIANCE

Maylill is registered with the Department of Social Development and the Department of Education. We have consent usage and have certification for:
Fire, Gas, First Aid, Our Grade R is registered with the Department of Education and we are CAPS compliant. The Department of Social Development has issued a certificate of compliance for Covid-19.

EDUCATIONAL/DAILY PROGRAMMES

Daily programmes are structured to facilitate each age group. Maylill follows the ELDA curriculum for learners from birth to five years and the CAPS Curriculum for our Grade R learners. Our educational programmes are play based as children learn through play, making learning fun! Children are assessed daily in all areas of their development, this enables Teachers to constantly monitor children. Mid-year and year end reports are prepared for each child. The Media/Computer Centre is equipped with 10 computers, where children are taught computer skills.

YEAR PLANNER

Our school calendar is run according to the Department of Education. We are open throughout the year, closing only over the Christmas and New Year periods. We run a fun holiday programme during all school holidays at no additional cost. All activities and events e.g. Fun Days, Valentine Day, Spring Day, Year End Parties are included in our school fees. We have a yearly “Family Fun Day” where all children and their families are invited to join in.
 

PLAYGROUND

Our playground is covered with artificial lawn, which allows the children to play in a safe, and clean environment. We have a junior and senior playground, allowing age appropriate equipment to be used for each child. We support recycled materials as playground equipment, which we have for the Junior Division. The materials used are safe and child friendly and good for the environment. We have a large sandpit, filled with Silica sand, which is a favourite with all the children. Our playground is filled with equipment that is educational while being fun ie. hopscotch, balancing beams, hoola hoops, stilts, skipping ropes, monkey bars, sack jumping, balls, beanbags and lots more. There are 2 play houses where the children have “dress up” and enjoy “fantasy play”. Music is played at break time which allows the children to experience the feeling of “free movement”. The water station with 6 taps is provided to encourage children to drink water. The Maylill gardens allow the children to be exposed to the beauty of nature.
